“Friends, family, nation – thank you for bestowing this honor upon me and the Bank of America corporation! Everyone here has worked tirelessly to make BofA the biggest financier of mountaintop removal in the country. The extraction companies we bankroll produced 40% of all the mountaintop removal coal mined last year, which is an accomplishment we can all be proud of.
“Our customers should be proud to know that their business has tremendously helped us become a top Fossil Fool – we really appreciate you not moving your money to credit unions and community banks that would actually keep community wealth in your community. Aren’t you happier knowing that your money is supporting coal extraction and helping us foreclose upon families rather than helping your neighbor open a small business or secure a mortgage? We know we are!
“This tremendous accomplishment was also possible in part by the billions of taxpayer dollars that the U.S. Government bailed us out with during the financial crisis. We hope you’re as happy as we are here at BofA that your taxes are supporting us and other “too big to fail” institutions so we can continue to bankroll the coal industry.
“Thank you all for your continued support of Bank of America. I cannot wait to display this prestigious award on the mantle of one of my many mansions. I only wish a financial display of support accompanied it because I only got a 425% raise this year.”
