Refuse to lower interest to present level
My name is Vijayan Menon. I am a Retired Aeronautical Engineer since December 2001. I am also a Laryngectomee patient since 1996. I am a resident of CA since 1961. I built my house in 1994. My monthly income is in high 4 figures. My credit score is 800. I have saved enough money for any future rainy days, but my house is worth more than my home loan. I had a credit card with Bank of America...

Here's a disturbing thought
Here is a disturbing thought: when you put YOUR money into Bank of America it becomes THEIR money. All you have is the bank’s promise to pay it back. We have been trying for almost two months to get our money out of BofA but their trust division has been slow to react to our requests. A few years ago, I tried to shut down an account and they kept it open. I am stuck at BofA with a...

Closed my account
I closed my BofA account and couldn’t be happier. I cant stand that bank and my mom, rest her soul, worked there for years (at least 30). But she would hate it now if she were still here.

Bank of America rated worst by customers
Via The Daily Mail: Record-high one in ten Americans changed banks last year over bad service and high fees Bank of America rated worst by customers Looking for a new bank? You’re not alone, a recent study says. Nearly 10 per cent of customers of U.S. banks moved their accounts last year, often after they became frustrated with fees and the quality of service, market research firm J.D....

Why I Broke Up With Bank of America
Via Alternet: Last November, 2011, I finally made the move to ditch the corporate bank account I’ve had since I was eight years old and opened an account at a local, sustainable bank. So did thousands of Americans during Bank Transfer Day, resulting in over $4 billion dollars moved out of big banks and into credit unions. Do you know where your money spends the night?  Wall Street banks are...

This Friday: Occupy Lent at Bank of America!
Via Occupy Boston: Members of Occupy Boston and the Protest Chaplains will gather at the First National Bank Building (home to Bank of America) in Boston’s Financial District every Friday of Lent to pray for forgiveness from our society’s economic sins and our complicity with them. The gatherings will start this Friday, February 24 at 8 AM and continue every Friday until Easter. “Come join...

I got rid of Skank of America long ago
They ripped me off more than once in fees and when I finally got rid of them, I wrote all over the check which was paying them off in full, Bank of America does not care about its customers, Bank of America is a rip off, Bank of America robs the disabled, (because they robbed my handicapped brother instead of NOT letting a transaction through if the money is not there), and many other truths about...

AN IDEA TO HELP HOMEOWNERS KEEP THEIR HOMES
I think it is shameful and offensive that Bank of America is profitable while it does nothing to help homeowners stay in their homes. BoA should be nationalized, and all its mortgages marked to market, and the interest rates on those mortgages should be CD rates + 1%. This is the only way we are going to bring the country back on its feet and restore the middle class. (I am only talking for...

Unfair and cheap
I had closed my account and was paying it off and was getting charged over a $100+/yr processing fee charges. I was not making any charges to the account — just payments — monthly and was not getting any statements mailed to me. Everything was done online. This in addition to the interest charges. I will never have anything to do with them. I called, spoke with a manager and they would not take...

They're still open
My worst story about Bank of America is that they are still open and functional. I was much too smart to ever get involved with this bunch of crooks and as far as I’m concerned, if it were up to me, they would be shut down immediately and ALL fraudulent behaviors would be immediately prosecuted. Yah, like that’s gonna happen in today’s America. Our wimp of a government is too...

No lollipops for you
At my local BofA, even the lollipops are kept behind the glass dividers. They look appealing and friendly, but you can’t have one. Symbolic, no?

Occupy Wall Street Breaks Up With Bank of America...
Occupy Portland protesters outside a Bank of America office in Portland, Ore., Nov. 17, 2011, Don Ryan / AP Photos Occupy Wall Street’s numbers may be down, its members concentrating on ‘working groups,’ but the movement managed to stage a ‘breakup’ with Bank of America on Valentine’s Day. Like many people Tuesday afternoon, those gathered in Washington Square Park were busy scrawling...

Cancel BoA credit cards
I didn’t have a bank account with Bank of America, but I noticed that one of my credit cards was from Bank of America (although I got it through some rewards program). I contacted BOA to cancel the credit card and notified them that the reason I was cancelling the card was because I didn’t want to do business with that bank and didn’t want them making money off me. Come on,...

5.6 Million Americans Have Switched Their Banks In...
Via ThinkProgress: Back in November, hundreds of thousands of Americans took part in “Bank Transfer Day,” a day for those fed up with the actions of the nation’s biggest banks to move their money to a different institution. Initial estimates of the impact of Bank Transfer Day placed the number of accounts moved at around 600,000, but later estimates revised that downward to around 200,000. ...

Short sale with bank of america.
For 2 years I tried to sell my condo in Florida in a short sale. They turned down 3 decent offers. I finally gave up. I could no longer afford my mortgage so ( was resigned to foreclosure. Now 4 years later they are sending me notices raising my payment by $100 per month. They offer no help at all and do not deal in good faith. I have moved and I am not talking to or attempting to deal with them...

Maybe during my lifetime
Am disabled with recurrent cancer, and have missed 2 mortgage payments due to a mountain of medical expenses. Have been trying for over 2 years to convince BOA to modify my mortgage loan or otherwise help me. Stonewalling me at every turn, BOA has still not done anything substantive to help me, just keeps piling on late fees, reportedly losing documentation I’ve sent or inventing document...

Via ThinkProgress: Since the 99 Percent Movement began last fall, activists have pushed consumers to transfer their money from big banks that were at the center of the financial crisis to smaller community banks and credit unions. Thus far, their efforts have been successful. Around 200,000 moved their accounts on “Bank Transfer Day” in November (early estimates of 600,000 were revised...

Fighting Organized Money Takes Organized People
The lead article in the fall 2011 issue of Shelterforce outlines the genesis of The New Bottom Line, showing how seemingly disparate groups were able to come together for a united cause: holding Wall Street accountable.  “If we are to challenge the dominance of Wall Street, big banks, and corporate power, we must work together,” write Stephen Lerner of the Service Employees...

I am closing all of my accounts with BoA
I went to BOA two months ago to apply for a home loan. The first day they took my credit card number so they could get an appraisal and credit check. $400 for the appraisal and $35. for the credit check. We were suppose to go to closing Dec. 29th or before. I called the processor numerous times to see what she might need to make sure we went to closing on time. Her voice mail always said she...

Thankfully we are with a credit union now
We had our mortgage with Bank of America not because we wanted to but because they bought it from the small bank we originally got the mortgage through. Their policies were not great and to have an automatically deposited payment arranged each month I had to open a checking account with them or they would charge me $2.50 for each deposit made automatically through another institution. I did that...

HATE BOA
I filed for the Making Homes Affordable plan under my Bank Of America home loan and was approved through underwriting but when it came down to it all, I was denied…..why?  Because my ‘investor’ didn’t think it was a good investment for him to rewrite my loan……hmmmm why is that? Oh, yes, because he loses money, Bank of America loses money because of my high...

BoA could care less
Last summer I was falling behind on my credit card payments as my dad was out of work and the day that I can finally afford to start making payments again they close the cards on me. I would’ve tried to explain to them more the personal financial situation I had but they could care less. Not to mention they’re setting up practices to overwhelm people with overdraft fees

Dear Rainforest Action Network, Thank you for the opportunity to address the major reason I’m miffed with Bank of America. Unfortunately, I’m unable to make my submission graphically dynamic. Given their other activities, I wasn’t surprised to learn that BoA was willing to get involved with LabCorp despite LabCorp being required to pay California back a significant chunk of...

Foreclosures and backing dirty coal.
This company needs to be put out of business for all the people they’ve put on the street with phoney foreclosures. And then there is this backing of coal companies and coal-burning energy plants that pollute the air we have to breathe. People should move their money to smaller more stable banks before they lose their life savings. This bank is the worst of them all I quit doing business...

Free yourself from the BoA constrictor!
Just closed my 5-year-old bank account with BoA. I went to school down south not far from the Appalachian coal fields. One of my two best friends recently conducted the longest tree-sit in West Virginia history (one month!) to prevent a coal company from blowing up a mountain to strip mine it. The fact that BoA is the #1 funder of dirty coal is just one of many good reasons to get out.  I...

Expose them!
From experience I know that personal exposure is the most effective, so we should be posting photographs and details of the people who are driving Bank of America. We should reveal their deceitful, inhuman lack of character, care, and corrupt intentions. Bank of America is a service facility driven by people and it is those people who are responsible. Driven by good people would be a different...

Unwanted mortgage with BofA
I try to have very ethical practices, so when I bought a new house two years ago I worked with my local community bank. A few month later my mortgage was transferred to Bank of America, where I now pay monthly payments. I feel terrible, but do not know any way to change my mortgage holder. What a system!
